Study: Gene mutations offer test for stroke

Researchers from Iceland-based deCODE genetics said mutations of two genes next to the gene involved with early heart development are associated with atrial fibrillation, which can cause palpitations, shortness of breath, fatigue and stroke. The scientists have developed a test for the gene mutations to help identify people at greatest risk for atrial fibrillation.
