BPA research leaves many questions unanswered

Many consumers are concerned that plastic cups, plates and containers expose them to harmful chemicals, writes Ilyse Simon. She notes that bisphenol A, which is used to make polycarbonate, has been linked to health problems in some studies. "A key question is whether the amount of BPA leached from plastics can affect the human body as it does in animals," she writes.
