Ad Council reports uptick in PSA value for 2008

Media companies donated ad space and commercial time with a total worth more than $1.83 billion in 2008, reports the Ad Council, a slight increase from 2007. The higher figure is significant in part because the ad market was crowded last year with ramped-up ad buys by political candidates, the summer Olympics and $1.2 billion education efforts regarding the switch to all-digital TV broadcasting.
