Metabolic syndrome may raise risk of breast cancer

Women with metabolic syndrome or some of its components may have a higher risk of postmenopausal breast cancer, according to data from the Women's Health Initiative study. The study found high diastolic blood pressure increased the risk twofold and high triglyceride and glucose levels were each associated with about 1.7 times increased risk.
