Pilots plan coast-to-coast air trek in support of GA

Two pilots and bloggers have begun building support for Flying Across America, a coast-to-coast trip designed to boost the image of general aviation. "The goal is not to set a speed record but make a friendly, fun and positive trip," said Vincent Lambercy, a Swiss pilot living in Germany. He met Floridian Jason Schappert, a 2008 winner of AOPA's Top Flight Instructor Award, via the Internet, and the two began hatching their plan for a cross-country flight with airport rallies along the way.
