Private-equity firm targets self-storage investments

The former CEO of Motorola, Christopher Galvin, has busied himself building a real estate private-equity firm, since leaving the company his grandfather founded. The new company, Harrison Street Real Estate Capital, looks for deals in niches that it believes get a powerful helping hand from demographic trends. Its favorite specialties are self-storage, medical offices and student housing.
