Asian capital flows to North American gas sector

The North American natural gas sector is increasingly awash in Asian cash, according to this piece. Chesapeake Energy recently raised about $847 million from mostly Asian investors; India's Reliance Industries claimed a slice of the Texas shale plays; and China National Petroleum is in the process of negotiating joint-venture deals to develop Canada's unconventional gas resources. "Assure yourself that there will be a lot more Asian capital pouring into resource rich areas of Canada and the U.S.," writes Peter Tertzakian.
