Caterpillar buys emissions-control manufacturer

Caterpillar has signed an agreement to buy New Mexico-based CleanAir Systems, a firm that manufactures filters that help reduce emissions from diesel-powered machines. Financial terms of the deal that closes today were not disclosed. "The CleanAir products add significantly to our ability to accomplish emissions reductions for our electric power, petroleum and marine customers," said Terry Sears, Cat's emissions solutions manager.
