Distiller fills pension hole with Scotch whisky

Whiskey maker Diageo is the latest company to use noncash assets to make up for a pension deficit. The distiller announced it will hand over 2 million barrels of drink to a funding partnership to guarantee its employee pensions. "A pension funding partnership will be formed, which will hold maturing whiskey spirit as assets," the company explained.
