IDC: Windows 7 slashes support costs, boosts security

Small to midsize enterprises adopting Windows 7 can cut support costs by 50% or more, improve security and make end users more productive, according to an IDC report on Microsoft's newest OS. "The greatest percentage reduction comes from a decrease in service-desk support burden. This indicates that Windows 7 is less time consuming for IT professionals to manage," the research firm said.
