Legislative interns in Illinois are urged to become advocates

The state executive director for Centers for Independent Living in Illinois encouraged graduates of a legislative internship program to choose a cause and advocate on behalf of people with disabilities. "We must break down all the barriers to full citizenship," Bill Gorman told the graduates. Students in the 16-week program completed a class project studying the accessibility of a building and comparing with to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
