McDonald's curbs Smoothie promotions because of supply concerns

McDonald's plans to aggressively promote its new Smoothies when they launch later this month. Meanwhile, the chain is urging its franchisees to hold off on promoting the new drinks ahead of schedule, on fears that supplies already in restaurants won't last throughout the promotion period. The company has reportedly ordered stores in some markets to halt tasting events and stop giving out free samples.
