High-intensity ultrasound matches liposuction for non-obese patients

High-intensity, focused ultrasound achieves modest reductions in abdominal fat and is an alternative to liposuction in nonobese patients, researchers led by plastic surgeon Mark L. Jewell found. The study randomly assigned patients to receive high-intensity, low-intensity or no ultrasound, and has been published in the journal Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
