Higher insulin does not raise death risk in diabetes

Higher insulin doses were not associated with the increased risk of all-cause and cardiovascular mortality seen in diabetes patients receiving intensive treatment, a study presented at the American Diabetes Association's 73rd Scientific Sessions showed. Higher HbA1C was linked to a higher risk of cardiovascular death before and after adjustment for insulin exposure, researchers said.
