Opinion: FAA's airspace system needs wider adoption

The Federal Aviation Administration's Wide Area Augmentation System governs use of the nation's airspace by nonmilitary and noncommercial aircraft, and while it promotes a safer experience for all in the skies, wider adoption of the system is needed, writes Pete Bunce, president and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association. "[T]he availability of satellite-guided precision navigation systems like WAAS is the cornerstone of both safety and efficiency," he writes.
