Proposed EPA rule could expose trade secrets, chemical companies say

A proposal from the Environmental Protection Agency to require energy and chemical companies to disclose emissions-calculating techniques could expose trade secrets, industry representatives say. "Our members' concerns are release of information, both domestically and internationally as well," said Lorraine Gershman, director of the environmental, regulatory and technical affairs office of the American Chemistry Council. The proposal is being reviewed by the White House.
