Study ties sleep deprivation to weight gain

People who stayed up until 4 a.m. in a sleep laboratory consumed more than 550 additional calories in the late hours and ate foods that were higher in fat than those eaten during other hours, a study in the journal Sleep indicated. The participants who were kept up late at night also gained more weight over five days than the control group who got enough sleep.
