Survey finds 43% of inunsured not aware of ACA's individual mandate

A Gallup survey found that 43% of uninsured citizens are unaware of the Affordable Care Act's individual mandate that goes into effect Jan. 1 and will require nearly all of them to purchase insurance or be penalized. Only 14% of insured people were not familiar with the individual mandate, which aims to offset the costs of providing coverage for people with pre-existing conditions by enrolling healthy young people.
