The advertising industry has a high employee churn rate, so Paul Venables, founder of the Venables Bell & Partners agency, decided to start celebrating when workers stuck around. Five-year veterans receive a beer stein and a $1,000 tab at a nearby pub, which they often spend carousing with more recent hires. "There's a great cross-pollination of people and values and ideas. I think we're up to 38 old-timers by now," Venables says.
