Brookings: Wage premium for STEM workers will increase

Job postings for positions in science, technology, engineering and math are advertised substantially longer than other openings, indicating a shortage of STEM workers in the U.S., according to a report from the Brookings Institution. The shortage means the wage gap between STEM and non-STEM workers will likely increase, possibly adding to racial and gender inequality, the report says.
