Chicago Teachers Union roiled by runoff election mess

Marilyn Stewart, the apparent winner of a recent runoff election subsequently invalidated by a committee of the Chicago Teachers Union, was blocked from entering the union building and taking office yesterday. Both she and incumbent president Deborah Lynch, who vows to remain in office until another election is held, are working with the American Federation of Teachers to resolve the standoff.
