Northrop Grumman chided for "mismanagement" by Navy secretary

Navy Secretary Donald Winter sent a letter to Northrop Grumman detailing "serious quality problems" with a new class of amphibious warships. Winter's letter puts the company on notice that it must improve its performance and informed company officials that the Navy's acquisition chief will review Northrop Grumman's programs every four months. A Northrop Grumman spokesman acknowledged receipt of the letter but declined comment.
