With heat on, Swiss bankers turn acidic

Tension has crept into the relationship between Swiss banks and the country's banking regulator. The tension is understandable. Credit Suisse's average unweighted assets in the first quarter were equivalent to 2.5 times GDP. At UBS, the ratio was 3.6 times. The regulator is pushing a simple but questionable solution: the leverage ratio.
