Sources: Feds launching antitrust probe of Google-Yahoo! ad deal

Google's deal to supply some search ads to Yahoo! reportedly is the subject of a formal antitrust probe by the U.S. Justice Department. Although both search giants had agreed to postpone the start of the partnership, pending a voluntary review, the launch of the alleged formal investigation could be a sign that officials have identified an area of particular concern. Yahoo!, in a statement, said There is nothing unexpected in the review of this arrangement as structured by the parties and Department of Justice officials." Neither Google nor the Justice Department commented for this article.
