Top Maine court rejects town's subsidies for private tuition

A Maine town's policy of subsidizing religious education has been unanimously rejected by the state's supreme court. One family that received the subsidies claimed that Maine law barring the use of public monies for subsidizing religious education applies only to state funds, not local ones, but the court said the law applies to both.
