Pennsylvania's nursing overtime law goes into effect

A new Pennsylvania law banning hospitals and health care facilities from requiring nurses to put in overtime took effect this week. The law exempts emergencies, unusual events or unexpected absences. Some hospitals have established on-call schedules to help them deal with staffing shortages.
