Pullback causes manufacturing to lose some momentum

The Institute for Supply Management's manufacturing index slowed in June, coming in at 56.2 compared with 59.7 a month earlier. However, some pullback was expected since manufacturers had expanded in recent months, write Sara Murray and Michael Arnold. A number above 50 indicates expansion, but the dip means that new orders, production and exports lost some momentum.
