Survey: Smartphone applications pose risk to driving safety

One-quarter of drivers who own smartphones are using applications behind the wheel, increasing their risk exposure to distracted driving, according to a survey by Nationwide Insurance. "The number of Americans who multitask by using a mobile application while driving becomes more troubling as the market for feature phones and applications steadily grows," said a company official.
