Bank of Korea on guard against damage as inflation eases

Policymakers at South Korea's central bank are on the alert for signs of low inflation, according to minutes of the bank's June 13 meeting. "If the trend of low inflation deepens, it is feared that the economy's vitality might be sapped, hit by falling asset prices and sluggish consumer spending along with weak facility investment," one meeting participant was quoted as saying.
