Banks re-examine debt sales after OCC, CFPB scrutiny

Several big banks are reconsidering their debt-sales policies after increasing scrutiny from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, says Aaron Hadam, executive vice president of National Loan Exchange, a delinquent-debt broker. The banks are paying more attention to the "best practices" that the OCC issued this year.
