Chevy's Silverado campaign relies on emotion, patriotism

General Motors is returning to patriotism-themed advertising for its redesigned 2014 Silverado pickup, with a "Strong for all the roads ahead" campaign featuring country singer Will Hoge. The ad from Interpublic Group's Commonwealth will be shown nationally during the 2013 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and Home Run Derby, and it will double as a music video and digital song download. "We're taking back the soulfulness of the category," said Chris Perry, vice president of Chevy marketing in the U.S.
