Heroic animals repaid with a trip to the taxidermist

Over the years, people have received heroic service from countless animals, many of which were later stuffed by their grateful owners. Taxidermied animals now on display include Barry, a St. Bernard mountain-rescue dog known for licking people to help warm them up; Cher Ami, a messenger pigeon that helped save a battalion of U.S. troops during World War I; and Comanche, a horse that survived the Battle of the Little Bighorn.
