A little legwork now prevents revision surgery later

Plastic surgeon Jeffrey Donaldson says he's seen an uptick in patients needing revision surgery for botched procedures resulting in scarring and infection. Patients should ensure their doctor is board-certified in plastic surgery and should look for certain warning signs, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons says. "Red flags would include no hospital privileges, no insurance, no before and after photos," Donaldson said.
