Mich. judge allows case against state marriage ban

Citing the Supreme Court's decision on the Defense of Marriage Act, a federal district judge has rejected Michigan's request for dismissal of a lawsuit that aims to to overturn the state's ban on marriage equality. "Plaintiffs' equal protection claim has sufficient merit to proceed," Judge Bernard Friedman said.
