Apple reportedly is pursuing LTE-Advanced technology for its upcoming iPhone 5S, at least in South Korea where an SK Telecom executive told the Korea Times that the carrier has approached the smartphone maker about embedding LTE-A in the handset. LTE-Advanced provides theoretical download speeds of up to 150 megabits per second. Apple's chief rival, Samsung Electronics, last week introduced its LTE-A network in South Korea. Also at Apple, the company has applied for a trademark on the term "iWatch" in Japan, an indication that it may soon launch wearable computing devices, Naoko Fujimura and Takashi Amano write.
