White House delays health-insurance mandate for large firms

The Obama administration said it will delay for one year, until 2015, implementation of the requirement in the 2010 Affordable Care Act that companies with more than 50 full-time workers provide health insurance. The legal mandate will take effect after the midterm elections. Other provisions of the health care law, including tax penalties for Americans who fail to buy health insurance, remain unchanged.
