Why you should include employees in strategic planning

You're asking for trouble if you develop a strategic plan without consulting with the employees who will handle its implementation, writes Michelle Randall. Employees who are excluded from the planning process are "missing crucial information. They weren't exposed to the alternatives discussed and discarded," she writes. For this reason, it's important to seek input from your workforce as you set the course for your company.
