Company softball teams decline as newer wellness options take hold

The increase in employee-wellness options is pushing out older trends, such as company-sponsored softball teams, even though they offer outdoor exercise and camaraderie. Former Olympian Jeff Galloway, who created a fitness program to help companies prepare employees for 5K races, said such events are open to more employees and have a lower skill threshold for participation.
