Ex-nursing-home execs plead no contest in Medicaid fraud case

Maxcine Darville, former CEO of the Gainesville Health Care Center, and her daughter JoAnne Carter, former assistant CEO, pleaded no contest to grand theft charges in a Medicaid fraud case. Darville and Carter were accused of defrauding over $2.75 million from Medicaid and using Medicaid program payments for personal expenses, according to the Florida attorney general's office. Each is required to pay restitution of $50,000.
