Study: Deforestation is picking up speed in Indonesia

Indonesia lost about 23,000 square miles worth of forests between 2000 and 2012, according to a new study, and deforestation is quickening. In 2012, Indonesia's deforestation outpaced that of Brazil, which has slowed its losses. "We need to increase the law enforcement, the control in the area itself," said University of Maryland geographer Belinda Margono, the study's lead author.
