Va. law allows tax-free down-payment savings

A new law in Virginia allows first-time buyers to invest up to $50,000 tax-free in mutual funds, brokerage accounts and other vehicles as a way to save for a down payment or other costs related to buying a home. Buyers and family members can contribute to the accounts.
