NEA head calls for NCLB reform

As Congress gears up to renew NCLB next year, the National Education Association is urging better funding of the law's mandates and adoption of a fairer accountability approach that does not penalize schools on the basis of one day of testing each year. Union President Reg Weaver says his group is willing to work with the Bush administration, which, he feels, has ignored its suggestions in recent years.
