County in Wash. wants to expand plastic recycling

The recycling center in Washington state's Jefferson County is considering looking for a broker that would allow it to recycle all types of plastic. The center now accepts two types of plastic. According to the American Chemistry Council, the highest demand for high-grade plastics, such as No. 1 PET, is for fibers in carpet and other textiles. The reuse for No. 2 HDPE containers is bottles.
