Technology enhances yearlong cultural exchange project

Students from a school in Massachusetts and one in El Salvador marked the end of a yearlong cultural exchange project that had them connecting using videoconferencing, plus traditional, handwritten letters. The project was sponsored by museums in each of the countries, and allowed the school in El Salvador to purchase several laptops and obtain wireless Internet access. Both schools also received GPS-equipped digital cameras, which they used to share with each other information about the biodiversity of their natural surroundings.
