Mich. HOA gets grant for garden project, literacy program

The Douglass Community Association in Kalamazoo, Mich., was awarded a $1,000 grant to fund a neighborhood garden and a literacy program. "We are elated that OMNI decided to fund this program as it will not only provide fresh vegetables for the participants, it will also serve to increase the reading literacy level of the participants," said Jim Greene, executive director of the association.
