Veterinarians seeing more heatstroke in pets this year

Veterinarian Susan Muench saw three cases of heatstroke in dogs in just one week recently, but usually sees only one case each year. Animals cannot be left in cars, even those parked in the shade, said Dr. Muench, who also noted that dogs left outside can succumb to heatstroke if they don't have access to shade and adequate fresh, cool water.
