Agency to fund asthma research focused on blacks, Hispanics

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute said it will provide $17 million in research money for projects that study ways to address poor health and other problems associated with uncontrolled asthma in blacks and Hispanics. PCORI chief science officer Bryan Luce said the organization believes AAFP members will be very interested in being part of this research, which will include interventions at the community, home and health system levels.
