Australian programme brings scientists into the classroom

Rather than visiting scientific experts, an organisation in Australia has flipped the traditional field trip model and, instead, is bringing the scientists to the students. The Scientists in Schools programme, funded by the government, was established with the goal of improving scientific literacy and helping students connect their science lessons to the real world.
