Baltimore blue crabs hit their peak in the summer season

Baltimore is a hub for Chesapeake blue crabs, a delicacy served steamed with Old Bay seasoning that was created at local bars in large part as a way to keep customers ordering more of the cold beers that traditionally accompany the crustaceans. The season runs from May through October, but many eateries import crabs from Texas and Louisiana to keep them on the menu year-round.
