Japan's Abe is expected to gain support for stimulus

The aggressive economic stimulus policies of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe are likely to get a boost in the upcoming parliamentary elections, according to a poll by The Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper. More than half of voters want an end to the divided parliament in which Abe's backers control the House of Representatives but the opposition has a majority in the House of Councilors. About 65% of those polled said they will vote for the candidates of Abe's Liberal Democratic Party in the House of Councilors.
